As part of course MHST 601 through Athabasca University, the following resource sections were developed.
This list is a curation of Master's of Health Studies students e-portfolios for Fall 2020 MHST 601 students. Each portfolio provides information about the individual and profession.
Unit 1: Inter-professional connectedness
This units resources explore social media and the professional digital identity.
Unit 2: Federal and Provincial Health Systems in Canada
This units resources explore the Canadian and Ontario health care system. It also includes resources on the geriatric population care in Ontario.
Units 3: Health of Canadians: Understanding health and determinants of health
This units resources explore what is health and then what are the determinants of health.
Unit 4: Multilevel approaches to understanding health: Beyond the individual
This unit resources explore how health behaviour is influenced on levels above the individual.
Unit 5: Chronic disease prevention and management
This unit resources explores chronic diseases in Ontario, specifically heart disease.
Unit 6: Vulnerable populations
This units resources explore vulnerable populations in Canada. During the first week of this unit, resources focus on Indigenous Health.
Unit 7: Future directions in health
This units resources explore ways to support the future of seniors care in the community over hospital or long term care homes.
